Our History
Danbury Square Box first opened for business in 1905. Founded by John Allen, the company set out to provide corrugated packaging to consumers outside the dominant hat industry who required round boxes, hence the “Square Box” in our name. From our humble origins in the old courthouse on Main Street, Danbury Square Box has grown over the last century while remaining a local family-run business providing corrugated boxes and products for local companies. The company was passed down from John to his son, John Allen II, who also passed it down to his son, John Allen III, who grew and expanded the company, moving it to our current location on Broad St, before passing it down to his son, Michael Allen.
Our history has gifted us with a unique customer-centric touch. Our staff is always available to answer questions. We strive to extend our knowledge and support to new customers in developing packaging to fit their needs. We are also focused on the future and are investing in new capabilities to continue to provide new and better packaging solutions. No order is too big or too small, and Danbury Square Box will continue to offer quality products for generations to come.
